Mrs Marilyn Hutton-Willemse is a lecturer in the Department of Radiography and has worked in academia for more than 11 years. Her niche and research interest are in health science management, breast imaging and advanced radiological procedures. She published an article on Radiographers’ experiences of the management of quality assurance programmes in public hospitals, South Africa. (please see https://doi.org/10.1016/j.radi.2019.05.007). Marilyn enjoys research supervision and is currently supervising various undergraduate, Masters’ students. Her teaching focus area is on radiographic procedures, clinical practice, and academic literacy which she facilitates in the undergraduate radiography programme.

Marilyn uses flipped classroom, collaborative learning and project-based learning & teaching approaches with the aim of assisting students with different learning styles in learning. She is involved in the Faculty of Health Sciences First Year Success (FYS) programme where senior FYS buddies assist first year students in term one to transition from high school to university. She is also involved in the Faculty of Health Sciences Mentoring programme that further assist first year students from term three to the end of semester two.
