
Hayley Hodgson is a lecturer and clinical coordinator in the Department of Radiography and has worked in academia for over 10 years. Prior to joining the university, she was a diagnostic radiographer specialising in clinical student supervision and computed tomography (CT).
She is a research supervisor for undergraduate as well as postgraduate radiography students. Her research interests include qualitative research focusing on clinical education as well as computed tomography. She has published two articles and presented an oral presentation at the Society of Radiographers of South Africa (SORSA) congress held in Cape Town in 2023. She was also the recipient of the following awards: Best Oral Presentation at the Faculty of Health Sciences Research Conference (Nelson Mandela University).Council Award: Best Master’s in Technology by Dissertation Graduate for 2019: Science, Engineering and Technology. She enjoys the clinical aspect of radiography education with interactive activities including simulation and virtual radiography software.
